“This is who I am, a spirit strong, This is who I’ve been all along”, and excerpt from her poem “This Is Who I Am”, is an overall theme of this book. The poems in this book are about life, love, faith, and accepting ones self. You can tell these poems come from the heart and soul of a writer who has been through a lot and has come out on the surviving end.

“A New Dish” is a wonderfully written book of poetry. My favorite poem is “Jagged Rocks”, a poem about life’s struggles and how with a little faith you can overcome them. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good book of poetry.
